Certified Utility Arborist
Apprentice Program
— INDUSTRY TRAINING AUTHORITY (ITA) RECOGNIZED PROGRAM —
A Certified Utility Arborist is a formal apprenticeship and upon completion provides the individual with a Certificate of Qualifications and a Certificate of Apprenticeship as provided by the Industry Training Authority [ITA].
A Certified Utility Arborist is a person who undertakes any work required to prune or clear vegetation in proximity [defined as a distance of three meters or less from a primary conductor with a voltage of 750 volts or higher] to energized electrical equipment, structures and conductors or who in the course of utility line clearing operations, prunes, falls or removes trees which could come into contact with energized power lines.
The program is structured to provide both in-school and work-based training with two correspondence courses also being required.
To be successful an apprentice must complete a total of 2387 hrs of on the job related work with not less than 1200 hours of these hours working in close proximity to high voltage conductors.
As an apprentice, the student will attend two Levels of training: Level 1 (six weeks) and Level 2 (two week). During and at the conclusion of each Level an apprentice will be required to challenge both written and competency based outcomes. (Year One: Level Exam; Year Two:CofQ Exam).

REGISTRATION:
To initiate registration for this program, complete the REGISTRATION FORM (fillable PDF), indicating your Program Selection as well as your Trade Worker ID number.
- A $150.00 deposit is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance of the tuition amount is due 30 days prior to the start of class.
- We accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, e-transfer, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), and cheque.
- In some cases, we (EITI Global Ltd.) may need to postpone a course due to low registration. In the event that a course is postponed, and the new course dates are not suitable for your apprentice, we will provide a full refund or credit to your account to be used for a future course.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- Notice > 30 days prior to the start of the course — 100% of tuition minus $150.00 deposit refunded or credited to your account
- Notice 14-29 days prior to the start of the course — 50% of tuition minus $150.00 deposit refunded or credited to your account
- Notice 0-13 days prior to the start — No refund, no credit.
LOCATIONS:
Both CUA Level 1 and Level 2 programs involve classroom and field training at two separate locations.
